E-sports hit the big leagues
BAMTech, the Major League Baseball- and Disney-owned streaming tech company, has signed a deal with Riot Games for the rights to League of Legends tournaments. The agreement calls for BAMTech to “pay a minimum $300 million through 2023” to Riot Games. In return, it’ll get the exclusive rights to “stream and monetize” the company’s popular multiplayer online battle arena game. — Engadget

In the middle of the night, Chance the Rapper and Jeremih slipped a surprise Christmas mixtape under the tree. Released in the wee hours of the morning Thursday (Dec. 22), Merry Christmas Lil Mama features comedian Hannibal Buress (“All the Way”), Noname (“The Tragedy”) and Lud Foe (“I Shoulda Left You”). — Billboard
