    Netflix launches downloads for offline viewing on smartphones, tablets

    Netflix has finally rolled out a feature subscribers have been requesting for years: The company will now let members worldwide download select TV shows and movies for viewing on Apple and Android devices while disconnected from the Internet. — Variety

    Prime members can now purchase and stream HBO and Cinemax content directly from Amazon

    An HBO subscription through Amazon costs $14.99 per month, the same as an independent subscription to HBO Now. Cinemax runs $9.99 per month. Prime members already had the option to subscribe to Showtime, Comedy Central and Starz. Verge

    If you really have to ask, Gilmore Girls was a big hit

    Though Netflix doesn’t provide viewership numbers, it appears likely the “Gilmore Girls” revival has been one of their biggest hits of 2016.  The Hollywood Reporter
